Ensembles

Ensembles are groups of musicians who perform music together as a coordinated unit; each member typically plays a different instrument or musical role, combining their parts to create a complete and balanced performance, with ensembles varying greatly in size and style—from small duos, trios, or quartets to larger bands, orchestras, or choirs—whose structure often depends on the musical genre and arrangement being performed, and where musicians work together by following the same tempo, harmony, and structure of the composition, contributing their individual part while listening and adjusting to the others to maintain cohesion and musical balance; such ensembles are common in many musical traditions, including classical orchestras, jazz groups, rock bands, and vocal groups, and in modern music production, ensemble performances may be recorded and refined using digital audio workstations such as Ableton Live, FL Studio, and Logic Pro to produce polished recordings.
