Frequencies
Frequencies refer to the rate at which sound waves vibrate over time, determining the pitch of a sound—how high or low a tone is perceived by the listener—and are measured in Hertz (Hz), representing the number of vibrations or cycles occurring each second; lower frequencies produce deep bass sounds while higher frequencies generate brighter, sharper tones, and the typical range of human hearing spans approximately 20 Hz to 20 kHz (20 kHz), encompassing distinct bands of bass, midrange, and treble that correspond to various sound types, and in music production and audio engineering these frequencies are routinely shaped and balanced using equalizers, filters, and other audio processors within digital audio workstations such as Ableton Live, FL Studio, and Logic Pro to achieve a cohesive mix.
