Performances
Performances refer to the act of musicians or vocalists playing or presenting music in real time; a performance can involve singing, playing instruments, or both, and may take place in settings such as concerts, studios, broadcasts, or live events, thereby representing how a piece of music is interpreted and delivered by the artist; even when playing the same composition, different performers may bring their own style, expression, timing, and dynamics, making each performance unique; these performances can be either live—occurring in front of an audience—or recorded, captured in studios using microphones and recording equipment so they can be edited, mixed, and distributed; in modern music production, performances are frequently recorded and refined within digital audio workstations such as Ableton Live, FL Studio, and Logic Pro, where producers may edit recordings, adjust timing, and apply effects to enhance the final presentation of the performance.
